How to Specify Lashes Like a Pro Buyer

Buying guide · Allbest Lashes

*General industry knowledge for lash buyers — confirm the exact specs, materials and curls available with the factory when you request a quote.*

When sourcing from a China lash factory, the specification sheet matters more than catalog photos. Four decisions shape your product, reorder rate, and salon feedback. Be clear with your supplier, and ask for samples before committing.

Material

PBT synthetic is the workhorse. It holds curl, resists wear, and comes in consistent lengths and thicknesses. It is good for classic, hybrid, and volume ranges where repeatability matters. It can look uniform, so clients wanting a softer finish may notice. "Silk" lashes in many catalogs are usually a softer-finish synthetic, not literal silk. They suit brands wanting a natural, flexible feel, but check sample consistency, as softer fibers can behave differently in fan-making. Mink-style fibers are synthetic fibers with more taper and texture, not real mink. They are good for fluffy, textured sets and premium natural looks, but they can be more delicate, less uniform, and cost more. Choose based on your artist skill level and client expectations, not labels.

Curl

J curl is a gentle lift. It suits naturally curled lashes and clients wanting a subtle, natural finish. B curl adds slightly more lift and works for natural, open-eye styles. C curl is the common middle ground: enough lift to open the eye without looking dramatic. D curl gives stronger lift and suits straight or down-turned lashes, hooded eyes, or clients wanting a more noticeable effect. L curl has a straight base with a lifted tip. It is useful for inner and outer corners, almond eyes, and hooded lids where a standard curl can sit awkwardly. Stock a small curl range, then expand based on reorders.

Thickness & length mapping

0.03mm is for volume fans; it keeps weight low when many lashes are used. 0.05mm suits light volume and hybrid work. 0.07mm is widely used for classic and hybrid sets where clients want definition without heavy fans. For lengths, 8-15mm mixes let artists map shorter inner corners, longer center or outer lengths, and custom shapes. Mixed-length trays reduce waste and make it easier to build balanced sets. If you only stock single lengths, artists buy more trays and may switch brands.

Private-label readiness checklist

Before ordering, confirm logo placement: box exterior, label, tray, or lash band? Ask for box style options: magnetic, drawer, sleeve, or simple carton, and how they affect unit cost. Confirm MOQ tiers for each design, not just each product. Check dieline, artwork, barcode, batch coding, and sample approval steps. Ask about lead times, payment terms, and whether packaging components ship together. Get a written spec and a pre-production sample. That prevents costly mismatches.
